Common questions
Difficult jobs: FAQs
What happens during an in-home measure?
We confirm floor area, substrate condition, transitions, access, stairs, skirting or trims and likely preparation. Those findings allow the final proposal to reflect the actual installation rather than a rough square-metre estimate.
Does the existing floor need to be removed?
That depends on the existing material, finished floor height and subfloor condition. We check these during the measure and include any required removal or preparation in the quote.
Can you install hybrid flooring over existing flooring?
A floating hybrid floor can often go over sound tile, concrete or timber when the surface is dry, stable and within the manufacturer's flatness tolerance. Carpet must be removed, and we check expansion space, transitions, door height and any acoustic requirements.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installs are completed within one to two days. Larger projects or those requiring significant subfloor preparation may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeframe in your quote and stick to it.
